The 5-Step Framework To Eliminate Negativity And Stay Positive Always

We’ve all dealt with negativity at some point in our lives - a difficult boss, a toxic co-worker, an unsupportive partner, or even our own self-doubt. These negative influences can hold us back from achieving our goals and pursuing our dreams. Some of us might even feel stuck in a rut, unable to break free from our not-so-optimistic mindset. However, with the right tools and mindset, we can learn to eliminate negativity and stay motivated to manifest our goals.

In this blog post, we will explore a 5-Step Framework which I’ve created to condition our brain to eliminate negativity as soon as it comes, so that we can always stay positive!

Step One: Write on a piece of paper all the negative thoughts that weigh you down

Research conducted by the National Science Foundation has shown that 80% of our thoughts are negative. And can you guess how many thoughts we have a day? 70,000! So if my math is correct… We literally have 56,000 negative thoughts every single day.

Which isn’t surprising. I mean, just browse through the first 10 articles in a newspaper.. You’ll find that the majority of the headlines are negative - simply because they attract the most attention.

This is why it’s SUPER important that you write on a piece of paper all the negative thoughts that are weighing you down and making you feel lousy. Some examples are, “I do not deserve a promotion. I’m not good enough to handle this project. I’m not lovable.”

Step Two: Put yourself in the shoes of the Universe and reply to your own negative thoughts

This is the fun part where you get to play the role of The Universe! Following the principle of “like attracts like”, give yourself what The Universe would have given to you based on the negative thoughts you have written down in the previous step. See below for an example:

Negative thought: I’m always losing money in stocks and crypto.

What The Universe gives: Great! I’ll make you lose more!

Step Three: Challenge your negative thoughts and determine if they are true

When negative thoughts first come to your mind, all of them seem true at that point in time because you are emotional. However, when the emotions clear up and your rational mind takes over, you will notice that most of the negative thoughts are not true at all! The golden question to ask yourself here is, “Were there instances in your life, or evidence that proves your negative thoughts wrong?”  For example:

Negative thought: Recession is coming. The job market is bad. I can’t find a job.

Challenge the thought (Is it true?): No. The unemployment rate is still low and there are still tons of jobs available on job portals.

Step Four: Counter your negative thought with a positive thought

This step is only required IF you have proven to yourself that your negative thoughts are indeed true. You don’t have to crack your brains for this. Whatever your negative thought is, counter it by going the OPPOSITE direction.

Negative thought: My tummy fats can never go away.

Challenge the thought (Is it true?): Yes. Despite trying a couple of times to lose weight, my tummy fat is still there.

Counter with a positive thought: Though I haven't gotten my six packs, my waist has downsized ever since I started my fitness journey!

Step Five: Create your own affirmations starting with "I am, I can, I will” and repeat them daily

One of the easiest ways to get out of a negative thought is to customize your own affirmations and repeat them daily. Here’s an example:

Negative thought: Recession is coming. The job market is bad. I can’t find a job.

Challenge the thought (Is it true?): I can get a job that pays me at least $6,0000/month by June 2023 regardless of market conditions.

Staying positive is not always easy, but it’s essential to do so if we want to increase our personal vibrations and manifest our goals. By incorporating this 5-Step Framework into your daily routine, you will start to condition your mind to automatically eliminate negativity as quickly as it comes.
